Introduction
Every day, a question is proposed to you related to Christmas, French culture, or the French language (with a small bonus equation). I use this calendar in two ways:
Each day, the classes I teach read the question of the day, and the first to find the correct answer wins a small prize.
For my more advanced classes (B2), students must find all the answers during the same lesson. I introduce the activity by explaining that we, the Elf Department of the North Pole, have lost about ten gifts, and they must use this calendar to find them. Put together, the answers provide the GPS coordinates of the location I want to take them to (in my case, the French Institute of Zagreb, but you can draw inspiration from my model to create your own questions to get the right numbers; the diacritical signs will remain the same!).
To use the calendar, print the two sheets of the "Advent Calendar EG B2" PDF. Cut three sides of each window on the sheet with the numbers, then glue it onto the other sheet to reveal the questions when you open the windows you've cut out (this takes time!). Also, print the word search puzzle, the clues to find the hidden words in it, and the text that will be used for three of the questions.
Good luck and have fun! Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
